University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is a private college
accredited "A" by SK Number: 074/SK/BAN-PT/Ak-IV/PT/II/2013, which
based on the integrated third campus of University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Tlogomas
Highway Number 246 Malang, East Java. University was founded in 1964 and
orphaned at an organization Muhammadiyah and become as Muhammadiyah largest
universities in East Java. UMM included in the ranks of the leading private
universities in Indonesia with UII and UMY. Because the wall was dominated by
the white color, UMM campus often called as the white campus.
UMM is one of the fast-growing university, so that by the
Muhammadiyah organization was commissioned as a college adviser for the entire Muhammadiyah
universities in eastern Indonesia. The programs are carefully designed to make
UMM as "The Real University", which is university that actually in
terms of the university as an institution of higher education who is always
committed to developing Tri Darma University.
At present the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) campus
occupies three locations, the first campus in Jalan Bandung 1, the second campus in Jalan
Dam Sutami 188 A and the third campus in Tlogomas Highway 246. The first campus
is the forerunner of the UMM, and now it is concentrated to the Graduate
program. While the second campus, which was the major activity centers, now
concentrating on the campus of the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Health
Sciences. While the third campuses is an integrated campus which used as center
of all activities.
Faculties
At start up, UMM is opening several new faculty, the faculty
of Social and Political Sciences (Social), Law, Economics and the Faculty of
Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and the Department of Religious Studies
(Branch of University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta FAI). As time goes and the
demands of the times, the UMM has opened other faculties, namely the Faculty of
Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries,
Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences consists
of D3 and S1 Nursing, Pharmacy, and Physiotherapy and Graduate Program in each
of which expands some majors. Department or program of study at UMM both level
3 diploma, Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral 40 percent has been accredited A
BAN-PT.
